The third installment of Record Store Day is set nationwide for this Saturday, October 24th. RSD was released in three phases to better navigate our current COVID-19 climate. However, none of the day's drops were diluted; each phase has offered its own unique, rare, and super cool selections.

Ralph's Records on 82nd & Indiana is Lubbock's only independent record store and has been a mecca of music for over 40 years. It's a magical place of music and entertainment discoveries and deserves to be celebrated every day. It's just that Record Store Day comes with a few additional perks, including rare, exclusive and firsts in vinyl, sales throughout the store, and that warm, tingly feeling you get in your tummy when you support the coolest business in Lubbock.

Remember that Record Store Day releases are very limited and sometimes regional when you check the October drops list. But part of the fun is the surprise and the hunt. If there's a title you really want, you'll probably want to get to Ralph's early.

Here's my short list:

Beck, No Distraction/Uneventful Days (Remixes)

The Church, Gold Afternoon Fix

Judas Priest, Sad Wings of Destiny

Prince, Sign O' the Times (Picture Disk)

Skid Row, Slave to the Grind (Expanded)

The Specials, Dubs

Frank Zappa, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore (Sampler)

Happy Record Store Day to you, and thank you for supporting an amazing, lovely small business owned and operated by my favorite Lubbock folks.
