A popular family destination in Lubbock is saying goodbye. Play Street Museum (10609 Slide Rd #400), known for its hands-on exhibits and creative play spaces for children, has announced it will close its doors soon. The museum has been a favorite for parents and kids alike, offering a safe and imaginative environment for years.

What Is Play Street Museum?

Play Street Museum, originally designed and opened in Dallas, Texas, has been operated in Lubbock by a local family since 2019. It is a special place for toddlers through children aged 8 to engage in imaginative, themed play in immersive exhibits.

The Play Street Museum offers daily playtimes, birthday parties, special events, and field trips.

Play Street Museum Confirms Plans to Close

They recently announced the painful decision to close on Facebook.

The facility will have its last day of operation on Sunday, November 16th.

Play Passes and Gift Play will be honored up until the museum closes, as will previously booked birthday parties. Additional weekend play spots will be opened to accommodate as many kids as possible before the facility closes its doors.

How Families Are Reacting to the Closure

I took my daughter and a few friends here 4 years ago for her 4th birthday. She STILL talks about making slime here and "playing at the place with all the different rooms". This is so sad. Praying many blessings on future endeavors.
