It's going to be a special night, and you can see the master of affairs.

My heart is breaking. Let me explain.

Being in the radio business, I'm so close to the music I love that I frequently have to miss concerts because I'm on the air. Now that I'm also in the Halloween business, I have to miss one of my favorite kinds of events too. Fortunately, you don't have to. You can add a little wonderfully weird fun to your celebrations with a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Buddy Holly Hall in Lubbock.

It's Time To Do The Time Warp Again

It's amazing to me how many of us grew up loving The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It can also be a little mind-bending that people who happily sang along to all of its gender-bending, over-the-top characters, and unapologetic celebration of being different somehow have a problem with those same ideas today. Oh well...their loss. If you're reading this, chances are you're ready to do the Time Warp with the sweetest transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania, Dr. Frank N. Furter.

Buddy Holly Hall experimented with bringing Rocky Horror to Lubbock last year, and it must have been a hit because it's back with two performances, one at 7:00 p.m. and another at 10:30 p.m. They're also making the experience even better by bringing back the Lubbock Shadowcast Players. If you've never experienced a shadowcast before, it's exactly what it sounds like—performers act out the entire movie live in front of the screen while the film plays behind them. It turns an already interactive movie into a full-blown theatrical party.

There are few things in life as joyful as a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's singing, dancing, audience participation, camp, comedy, and just the right amount of outrageousness. Whether you've seen it a hundred times or have somehow never taken the ride before, it's one of those rare experiences that makes everyone in the room part of the show.

So if you're lucky enough to be there, yell at the screen, dance the Time Warp, and have an absolute blast. I'll try not to be too jealous as I party with my own monsters.
