Welcome to Santa’s Castle: A Free Winter Wonderland in Lubbock
Christmas is right around the corner, and that means Santa's Castle's opening date is, too.
If you don't know what that is, it's a sprawling home owned by a family here in Lubbock that puts on a free fabulous event every weekend in December for the entire community.
While it's free to attend, the family asks for people to bring canned food and cash donations if they can so they can give back to others. All the funds raised go back to local schools for things like jackets, shoes, field trips and so much more.
The family started this event because they remembered how expensive it was to do these kinds of things and they used to not be able to afford it. Now they can, and they want to give back to the community that helped them.
**Update: For Santa’s Castle night 2 they will offer early, in-person (cash only) ticket sales starting at noon on Tuesday 12/7/21. At the time of purchase you will receive a wristband for your entry. Santa's Castle will not be responsible for any lost or stolen wristbands.
Online ticket sales will begin 12/8/21 at 12:00pm. If you purchase a ticket online, you can swing by Llano Masonry's office to exchange for a wristband before the event at the times and location below. You may still pick up wristbands at the event if you choose.
Tickets for the final night of Santa's Castle will not be available until the week of - so check back then!
Tickets are $5 per person, kids under 5 will be free.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to local school coat drives and teacher appreciation programs.
There's plenty to do at Santa's Castle in Lubbock.
You can enjoy a ride on the Christmas train, meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus while enjoying complimentary hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. Then, head outside the house to enjoy the lights and fireworks. They also have horse and carriage rides down the street at Highland Oaks park. You don't want to miss out on that!
It was started in 2019, and every year it's gotten bigger and better. Their goal is to bring Christmas cheer to everyone so no family has to do without because they can't afford something.
It's a great way to enjoy time with your loved ones and get in the holiday spirit.
Santa's Castle is open every Saturday in December from 6:30-9 p.m. until Christmas Day. It's located at 15401 CR 1870 in the Highland Oaks neighborhood.
