In Texas, showing care might involve fixing things without being asked or bringing a snack "just in case." Perhaps they'll ask that you text them to let them know you made it home, not because they're being nosy, but because while concern can be expressed quietly around these parts, it's always felt deeply. Feelings don't have to be announced. Speeches don't need to be made. The message is still clear as day.
