Klingons Attack in CBS’ First ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Clips
At long last, Star Trek is boldly going back to TV. Just two weeks out from its CBS All-Access premiere, Star Trek: Discovery introduces us to Michael Burnham in two new clips from the series, along with one very scary Klingon.
Star Sonequa Martin-Green has been making the talk show rounds, bringing with her two new clips from the Star Trek franchise’s long-awaited return to TV. One clip from CBS This Morning sees Burnham and Captain Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) greeting the U.S.S. Shenzhou, while a second from Colbert has Burnham in a spacesuit staring down a gnarly-looking Klingon:
Discovery features Walking Dead alum Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham, along with Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd, Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca, James Frain as Spock’s father Sarek, Doug Jones as an alien science officer, Adam Rapp as the TV franchise’s first openly-gay character and multiple Klingon roles. And while the series may have lost showrunner Bryan Fuller, Trek favorites Nicholas Meyer, Rod Roddenberry, Kirsten Beyer and Joe Menosky are all on board.
We’ll see if the September 24 premiere reinvents Star Trek as we know it, but are the first clips promising?
