I was sitting at Hooters when I saw the news that the Steeler's all-time leader in receptions had decided to retire after 14 seasons with Pittsburgh. On the day that the Denver Broncos were introducing Payton Manning as their new quarterback, Hines Ward was saying goodbye to the Steelers of Pittsburgh. I immediately called home to my girl Woody to see how she was taking the news of her favorite player from her favorite team (the woman bleeds black and gold) retiring, and to my surprise, she was actually subdued. (I figured she'd be cussing like a sailor about how Steeler ownership had screwed her man).

So, on the day Bronco-nation welcomed Manning to Denver, Steeler-nation lost the teams all-time leading receiver, two-time Superbowl Champion, and MVP of Superbowl XL, who was released by the Steelers earlier this month.

Goodbye my brother...
