More details have come out concerning a home invasion that left one dead and three injured in Lubbock.

On Thursday, March 11th at around 9:15 a.m., Lubbock Police responded to the 1500 block of 41st Street to reports of a shooting. The victims, Jose Dominguez and Lorene Aviles, told police that the suspects, identified as Zach Thomas and Billy Rodgers, had come through the front door with guns drawn.

KAMC News reports that the suspects ordered Dominguez to get on the ground. Afterwards, it's said that the suspects then went and got Aviles from another room and brought her into the living room. She then got into an argument with one of the suspects.

During the argument, police say one of the suspects pistol whipped Aviles in the face, causing Dominguez to wrestle with the other suspect. Dominguez got the gun, then fired shots at both suspects, who then ran away.

Both suspects suffered from gunshot wounds, and they arrived at Covenant Medical Center a bit after the incident. Thomas was pronounced dead at the hospital. The extent of Rodgers' injuries is unknown.

Dominguez and Aviles were transported to University Medical Center for their injuries. Dominguez showed an officer that he was bruised on his lower right abdomen. Aviles was noted by an officer to have been bleeding from the head.

Dominguez told police afterwards that he didn't know the men who rushed into his home, or why he specifically was targeted.
