Get ready to spend more for those Mega Millions lotto tickets.
The Texas Lottery announced changes to the game that went into effect on Saturday.
From the Texas Lottery:
"Starting jackpots for the multi-state game will more than double from the current $15 million to $40 million and the ticket price will increase from $1 to $2 per play...
If I had a dollar for every dollar I spend trying to win the lottery, I might not need to play the lottery. I am usually not a gambling man, I don't bet on football, or basketball, I don't go to Vegas or to Ruidoso to go to casino's, I like to know I will be getting something for my money.
Who doesn't dream of hitting the lottery jackpot? As the jackpot grows so do the number of people who don't normally buy tickets, all hoping they will be the lucky one to win it all.
I've heard your odds of winning a state lottery are something like 1 in 14 million. It doesn't keep me or other people from playing. Sometimes you get "that feeling" that you need to play. It usually doesn't pan out, but sometimes it does. Wait until you hear the next story.
