Local Lubbock Spots to Check for Tamales

Nothing wrong with retail, and then you get the assurance that your tamales were made in a commercial kitchen. Here are some options, but keep in mind most places will need orders in advance (besides Pedro's) and may only do tamales seasonally or for specific holidays.

Pedro's Tamales (the O.G. tamale maker here in Lubbock) at 8207 US-87 or 6205 19th St, also available frozen at most United Family grocery stores.

La Malinche Tortilla Factory 1105 2nd Pl and online

Jimenez y Friends Barbecue y Taqueria 4606 34th St

La Super Economica Meat Market 2131 Clovis Rd

There are plenty of restaurants that offer tamales either seasonally or anytime as part of a plate. You can always get tamales at Rosa's Cafe locations, for example.

A lot of smaller-operation tamale folks will post on LBK Foodies if they have availability. Starting your tamale relationship now will likely really help you out come Christmas time!
