Texas Supernatural: The East Texas Wooly Booger
Texas is a big place and we have no idea what all is out there.
The Pineywoods of Texas have quite a reputation for cryptids (animals that some believe exist but haven't been proven by science). Chief among those cryptids is the East Texas Wooly Booger, aka "The Boogerman".
So what is a "Wooly Booger?" You may know him by his other names, "Bigfoot" and "Sasquatch". Now this presents a bit of a problem, since no one has actually found a Bigfoot or Sasquatch, how do we know it's the same thing as a Wooly Booger? Let's just say the descriptions of all of these creatures seem to be about the same thing.
In case you didn't know, there is a "Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization" and companion website. That website is absolutely lousy with Wooly Booger reports in the areas of East Texas near Lampasas, Tyler, and Nacogdoches. If there is such a thing as Bigfoot/Wooly Booger, then he/she/they are surely in this area. Most of these reports are rather current as well, starting in about 2003, so we're not dealing with just folk tales.
This is not to say the entirety of Texas isn't infested with Sasquatch(es?). Sightings and/or "evidence" have been spotted as far west as Lubbock and as far south as Victoria County (south of San Antonio). There have also been reports in places as urbane as Fort Worth and Austin.
The Wooly Booger isn't the only cryptid said to be in that area either. The area is also said to be home to "black cougars". These cryptids are said to live among verified animals like white-tailed deer, possums, squirrels, and rabbits.
