Micah Dallas would start for the Red Raiders and would be in command for the duration of his start, going five complete innings and striking out nine Oklahoma State Cowboys while only allowing one free base. He'd leave the game with a 6-3 lead.

Texas Tech would go on to beat the Cowboys, 8-6.

Offensively, Texas Tech got it going in the 2nd inning, knocking in two runs on a Neuse single. They'd follow with a solo shot by Cody Masters in the 3rd inning, and three more in the 4th inning to make it to six.

Oklahoma State would keep battling back against the bullpen with the help of some suspect Red Raider defense that would have two errors and several tough plays that just weren't made.

The Cowboys would get the Red Raiders' lead down to one twice, but would never close the gap or tie the game.

Big Bad John McMillon worked around some trouble to close the game in a two-inning appearance, striking out three in the 9th inning.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma State will play again Saturday (June 8th) in game two of the Super Regional.
