Texas Tech Baseball Begins Season With Sweep Of San Francisco
Texas Tech baseball returned to the diamond this weekend, sweeping the University of San Francisco and scoring a combined 46 runs over the four-game series.
The #5 Red Raiders shot right out of the gate, putting up nine runs in the first game, winning 9-7. The second and third game came on a Saturday doubleheader in which Tech won both contests by scores of 15-6 and 13-5, respectively. Sunday, the team matched Friday's score of 9-7.
It looks as if Tim Tadlock's club is looking to begin right where it left off last season, once again hungry for another College World Series berth.
It'll also be interesting to see how Red Raider quarterback Patrick Mahomes will transition to the diamond as well, as he's also active on the baseball roster and will play this season.
The Red Raiders host Nevada for a one-game affair on Tuesday at 2 PM over at Rip Griffin Park.
Here's to continued success to Tech baseball, Guns Up!
