Texas Tech Gets A Huge Shout Out For Signing Day Class
It looks like we’re in for another whopper of a football season.
Surely you didn’t think Texas Tech was one-and-done when it came to building a championship-caliber squad? Last season was one for the books, no doubt, but what’s even more exciting is what’s happening behind the scenes. There’s a long-term vision in motion for Red Raider football, and you can feel it in the air across Lubbock — that kind of electricity doesn’t spark from luck alone.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the guy who pores over every recruiting spreadsheet and star ranking. But even from my seat, it was obvious Tech was swinging for the fences this year. You’d have to be hiding under a rock and wearing noise-canceling headphones to miss the buzz. And sure enough, the national media is taking notice… again.
USA Today just named Texas Tech one of its Top 7 Winners & Losers for college football signing day — and the Red Raiders landed firmly in the “Winners” column. Even better? Of the four “Winners” selected, Tech is sitting alongside LSU, USC, and Oregon. That’s elite company by any measurement. On the “Losers” side: Penn State, Baylor, and Auburn — not a bad list to rise above.
We’ll leave the deep-dive analysis to the sports experts at USA Today, but as a Lubbock guy, I’m just glad to see Tech consistently rising above Texas and A&M when it comes to national attention. The Lone Star State is crowded with big-name programs, and the Red Raiders are proving they belong at the big-kid table.
Now if Coach Kliff would land somewhere nice — and if either the Chiefs or Cowboys could get back on the rails — I’d be one very happy football camper.
