I don't believe this kind of foresight has gone into a venue before.

The two theaters in the Buddy Holly Hall Of Performing Arts feature a rating of NC 15.  That means that the rooms are broadcast quality. You will basically be listening to performances in a studio. This is huge. This type of thing is accomplished with innovations that you may or may not even notice. For instance, in those rooms, the air will flow from the floor up. This way, the air doesn't have to be pushed by noisy turbines.

I won't pretend to be an expert on this, but here's a thought; do you think noise considerations were even considered in any of our current or past halls? I think the answer is no. We have been subjected to bad sound for so long that I think Lubbock may not even know how to react in a well-done room. We have been stuck watching music in places designed for basketball and rodeos, not high-end performances. This is going to be great!
