As you might have heard, Zach Thomas didn't make it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend. The class was announced Saturday night, and Steve Atwater, Isaac Bruce, Steve Hutchinson, Edgerrin James and Troy Polamalu were this year's five inductees of the Modern Era class.

There's definitely an argument that Thomas belongs in the Hall, but I think this story from Will Cain on Saturday night encapsulates why Thomas' life is much bigger than football.

The class was announced Saturday night, which means Thomas received news that was a giant let down. After years of not even getting into the final group, to be so close is disheartening, to say the least. However, that personal defeat did not stop Thomas from making a Hall of Fame-style impact on one bartender's life.

This is Ramon, who is from Panama and grew up a giant Zach Thomas fan. He played American football in Panama, wore the number 54, and played linebacker to be like his hero.

After hearing Ramon's story, ESPN radio show host Will Cain reached out to Thomas.

The Miami Dolphins legend had just received devastating personal news, but went way out of his way to make it to the bar where Ramon worked with a signed jersey and a hug.

Zach Thomas might not be in the Hall of Fame, but he is definitely a Hall of Fame dude.
