My how time flies. It's hard to believe that it's that time of the year to do some good in the neighborhood by taking a moment out of your day to give the gift of life.

The 11th annual Rock is in My Blood drive gets flowing this Monday, October 13, and runs through October 18 from United Blood Services at 48th/University. Everyone who takes the time to be a hero right here on the South Plains will receive the 2014 edition 'Rock is in my Blood' T-shirt.

Everyday we'll give-away a pair of Nightmare on 19th VIP passes to check out four spooky haunted houses including Lubbock's first ever 3-D haunt at the Lonestar Events Center.

In addition to the Nightmare passes; you'll have the opportunity to pocket various concert tickets, local artist Lynn Day has ponied-up one his metal pieces and our buddy Tony from Flamingo Ink has donated a gift certificate for the free tattoo.

Blood donation requirements are simple. You must be at least 16, be in good health, and have a valid identification.

Center hours for this week are:

  • Monday-Thursday-12:00-7 p.m.
  • Friday-9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday-9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
