Volto DeNiro Returns To The Spoon This Weekend For A Night of Sweet Jams
Saturday, January 21st, 2022, Volto DeNiro is making their yearly trek to Lubbock to play some dope covers as well as some of their original tracks. These guys don't come out to play live often and if you didn't catch them at The Spoon last year, make sure you don't miss them again. It's well worth the hangover in the morning.
The band consists of four members, Cody Springer (vocalist/guitarist), Rob Essery (bassist/guitarist), Josh Dewayne Lawson (drummer), and Steven Ellis (guitarist/keyboardist/percussionist/harmonica). They all live in different cities and drive several hours to practice with one another each month. I've had the privilege of hanging out and watching them practice. Not only are they incredibly talented, but they are also hilarious and really put on a fantastic show.
These dudes even put together a ridiculous TikTok to promote the show...
You can expect to hear covers from bands like ZZ Top, Toadies, Queens of the Stone Age, Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Modest Mouse, David Bowie, Sublime, and many more familiar favorites. They didn't play any original songs last year at The Spoon, but this year you'll get a taste of those as well. This will be their first time to show off some of those live. I can't wait. They also have some new merch that I'm stoked about.
They are the only band booked for Saturday night, and they will be rocking from 9 pm until the wee hours of the morning. Come out and grab a seat by me! You can also hear more about the band on The RockShow Backstage podcast by clicking here and find more information on Saturday's show by following them on Facebook.
I hope to see you there!
