Yellowstone and 1883 Come To Lubbock and The NRHC
Calling all fans of the hit television series Yellowstone and it's 1883 prequel which airs on Paramount+. The National Ranching Heritage Center at Texas Tech University in Lubbock will be hosting a new exhibit, 1883: A Ranching Origin Story.
The exhibit is a partnership between 101 Studios and the National Ranching Heritage Center and will feature props, costumes, and pictures from the series 1883. Highlights of the exhibit include an authentic wagon, camp set-up, and costumes worn by the stars of 1883 including Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
Officials at the National Ranching Heritage Center say the exhibit and series tells the stories of our move west and the struggles that settlers faced.
“Taylor Sheridan’s 1883 production helps tell the very real story of early settlers moving west hoping to make a better life while struggling to conquer and endure terribly harsh environments,” said Scott White, Helen DeVitt Jones Endowed Director of Collections, Exhibits and Research. “These struggles turned the Western frontier into the dynamic region it is today, and portraying these struggles gives us a more accurate idea of what it took to cross the frontier, settle and survive. The history of ranching is part of those stories.”
1883 follows the Dutton family’s move west across the U.S. in the late 19th century. The series debut reportedly set a premiere record of 4.9 million households.
Visitors will also get to see more information and learn about how people lived across the Great Plains while touring the National Ranching Heritage Center.
Whether you are a fan of 1883 or not, this will be one great exhibit to see. Don't miss out!
