Irving, Texas is being stalked and torn apart by as many 10 ferocious feral hogs. Residents are frustrated and unsure of exactly what to do about them. They'd like to get rid of them with a hunting rifle, but there's just this one little problem...

...the hogs are running amuck in a residential area.

Firing off rounds at a bunch of wild hogs while children are playing, people are riding bikes, and cars are sitting in traffic, is probably not the best idea.

Did you know feral hogs are responsible for roughly $400 million worth of damage in Texas each year? I knew they did their fair share of destruction, but I had no idea it was anywhere near that number.

We used to deal with a feral hog problem back when I lived in the tiny town of Rankin, Texas, located roughly an hour south of Midland off of Texas State Highway 349. The entire town is only about one square mile, and the feral hogs were bold and vicious. Rankin is the kind of town where people ride to and from the gas station on golf carts instead of taking the car out of the garage, so, we will just say the town folk dealt with the problems as they occurred.

Do you have a solution for the hog problem? I'd love to hear from you! Feel free to drop me a comment or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com and let's chit chat about these mean piggies!
