Lubbock's Cheesecake Factory, located in front of the South Plains Mall, closed on June 16th, for cleaning due to coronavirus concerns. It's finally reopened, for to-go orders only, as of Thursday, June 25th. We were told the restaurant is set to open their dining room on Wednesday, July 1st.

After the recent surge in local COVID-19 cases, several Lubbock bars and some restaurants had closed mid-month to do some deep-cleaning, but none have taken this long to reopen their dining rooms.

Lubbock's Cheesecake Factory has been shut down for more than a week, and we wondered if there was a positive case of COVID-19 there. Staff and management were not able to answer that question, and have referred us to the health department or their corporate office. We've reached out to the City of Lubbock for more information.

We were told the extended closure was due to an abundance of caution. We really appreciate that, though it's hard to understand.

Folks are disappointed and anticipating the dining room to sit down in and enjoy a meal. A couple who walked up ahead of me earlier today saw the 'To Go' sign and turned around, disappointed. The front door is open and you're able to walk in to place a to-go order. Orders are also being directed to their website, or they'll take orders over the phone and bring it out for curbside service.

Our peek inside showed us that the restaurant looks as sparkly and impressive as ever. The cake display was full and there's no doubt they are ready to bring out our curbside orders. They look ready for reopening next week. We look forward to this too, and hope that all is well at our The Cheesecake Factory.
