A Lubbock Youth Football Team Needs Our Help
There are two things that are very important here in West Texas: Kids, and football.
The Lubbock Red Raider Tykes, a team of 6 and 7 year olds, are a part of the Texas Youth Football Association, and this weekend, they will be traveling to San Antonio to compete in the Texas Youth Football Association State Championship against the San Antonio Texas Giants Tykes. This is the first time in TYFA history that a team from Lubbock has competed for the state championship.
However, youth sports always comes at a steep price. If you have kids who play youth sports, you know that you MUST be made of money, because of the costs involved. We're talking equipment, juice boxes, and yes, travel to out-of-town games.
There are 17 families traveling to San Antonio this weekend, and we want to do our part to be LUBBOCK PROUD and help defray the costs of getting these families to the game on Saturday to see their kids lay their hearts out.
So, Friday morning, December 11th, we'll be collecting donations to help alleviate the financial burden of getting to the game. All we ask is that you drive by our studios at 4413 82nd Street (just next door to Abuelo's) and drop off what you can in the buckets we'll have out for the kids. Even if it's just a couple of bucks or pocket change, anything you donate will go directly to defray the costs for these families as they cheer on their little ones, and represent Lubbock.
The game will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 1:45 p.m. at Bob Benson Stadium-Central Catholic High School in San Antonio.
If you can't swing by in the morning, you can also contact team mom Cortney Fielder at: 806-831-3257.
Thank you for your support as we cheer the Red Raider Tykes on to victory this weekend.
