Adopt a Pup ASAP Because Lubbock’s Newest Dog Park Opens This Summer
Lubbock's newest place to take your pups for fun, McAlister Dog Park, will be open by the 4th of July. That means you still have time to go and grab a forever friend from one of our local kennels to enjoy the park with. There's no shortage of pets available for adoption in Lubbock and if you have any extra room in your family for more love, now is the time.
According to Everything Lubbock, the new dog park is located at Marsha Sharp Freeway and Spur 327 in Southwest Lubbock. The park will have lights for evening play, bathrooms, water fountains, a space designated for big dogs, one for small dogs, and even an agility training course. This is going to be a wonderful place for you and your favorite four-legged pets to get some exercise and enjoy the warm weather together.
I can't wait to get out there this summer with my dogs. My boyfriend actually just brought him a friend for his dog, Stevie. We named her Lucy, and the two are really enjoying each other's company. If you happen to have a solo dog, maybe it's time to grab them a pal.
When you're already caring for one dog, adding another isn't much more work and it gives them someone to hang out with while you're away. My cat has also been completely different since I adopted a friend for him last year; he's much happier.
So get ready, Lubbock. This new dog park will be great, and if you have it in your heart to love on another pet, head over to a local shelter today.
