Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour Coming To Lubbock
It's a pretty sweet and special thing to follow in your father's footsteps. In many ways I have, and it's given me a lot of insight into a man I've always looked up to. With understanding comes love, and I love him more deeply now than I ever have. I am very grateful that he is still here alongside me today.
I cannot imagine what it must be like to lose your father when you are very young, especially to a horrific accident. That's exactly what happened to A.J. Croce- his incredibly talented and critically acclaimed father Jim Croce perished in a plane takeoff accident when he was only two years old.
That hasn't stopped A.J. from following in his father's footsteps. A talented musician in his own right, he has embarked on a tour playing his father's most beloved songs for Jim Croce's fans, of which there are still very many today. He has a great backing band, too. According to a press release from the beautiful Buddy Holly Hall:
The Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary show features a legendary band (including drummer Gary Mallaber, bassist David Barard, guitar/violin James Pennebaker) and a moving multi-media presentation accompanying Jim’s songs (which on the previous tour included memorable hits, Operator (That’s Not the Way It Feels), Time in a Bottle, and others).
Music has a magical way of transcending everything, even death. Lubbock is sure to fall in love with Croce's music all over again on December 14th. Tickets for Croce Plays Croce go on sale Friday, June 23rd at 10 a.m. and can be purchased through Buddy Holly Hall's website. I highly recommend you go through the Buddy Holly Hall website to avoid paying a huge markup through a resell site or even purchasing fraudulent tickets.
