Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Is The Greatest Thing Since Dr Pepper
Move over, Diet Dr Pepper, there is a new King of no carb sodas for those of us still enjoy Dr Pepper. This past week a zero-calorie gift from Keurig Dr Pepper landed on store shelves throughout Lubbock, and it is magnificent.
Dr Pepper Zero Sugar comes in three flavors. Original, Cherry, and Cream Soda. Full disclosure, I've only tasted the original flavor so I'm not sure how the others taste, but a quick scan on Twitter revealed that people seem to be happy.
Dr Pepper Zero Sugar will be sold in 12-ounce cans, 20-ounce bottles, 2 liters and half liters, and hopefully it will show up at Sonic at some point.
After tasting the new Dr Pepper Zero Sugar this weekend, I instantly became a fan. It's much closer to the taste of Dr Pepper than Diet Dr Pepper is, which I think is a real win. The new Dr Pepper Zero Sugar is really meant to compete with Coke Zero Sugar and all the other Zero Sugar sodas that are out there.
If you are a fan of Diet Dr Pepper, you don't have to worry as it is not going anywhere according to the Dallas Morning News.
Dr Pepper Zero Sugar does not replace Diet Dr Pepper, a spokeswoman confirmed. Both will continue to be sold.
“Diet Dr Pepper is here to stay, and continues to be a delicious treat that Diet Dr Pepper fans know and love,” says a spokeswoman.
Diet Dr Pepper and Dr Pepper Zero Sugar have nearly identical ingredients, starting with carbonated water, caramel color, aspartame and phosphoric acid.
I know, I know. It's soda and it still isn't as healthy as drinking water, but let us Dr Pepper fans have this victory. I think it's going to be a great product and will do well among those who miss Dr Pepper but want to stay away from the calories and carbs.
