Many bars are coming back as restaurants in order to satisfy Governor Greg Abbott's COVID-19 closures. These businesses were dealt what could have been a fatal (and, I believe, arbitrary) blow. It's up to us to show them support and love during these trying times.

Remember: when you patronize a locally-owned business, much more of your money stays in your local community and has a much better chance of returning to you. Local business owners pay their mortgages in Lubbock, shop here in Lubbock, and utilize Lubbock folks for their services.

For example, let's say you're a plumber (good career choice!). It's much more likely that the owner of Flippers Tavern will call you to fix their sink at home than some corporate dude in California will after you spent money at a chain.

Flipper's is known for their gourmet hot dogs, hip atmosphere and, of course, their amazing selection of pinball machines.
