Have you ever been standing in an airport security line and saw someone else breeze through a mysterious VIP side lane? You probably asked yourself "what's so special about that guy that he doesn't have to wait in this line of suck?" The answer is: He has a TSA Pre✓® membership and now it's easy for you to get one too!

Starting today, March 18th, Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport will host a TSA Pre✓® enrollment event in the parking lot at the Silent Wings Museum in a marked RV near the C-47 display aircraft.  The event will last through March 29th and give low-risk travelers the opportunity to expedite their security check by not removing shoes, laptops, belts, liquids or light jackets.

The cost for the TSA Pre✓® program is $85 for a five year term, which breaks down to $17 per year.  TSA at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport offers this program when staffing and capacity allows.  Other airports across the country are also offering this service which makes this a great buy for frequent flyers.

How does it work?

1. Pre-enroll online
2. Schedule a five-minute-or-less fingerprinting appointment
3. Get a Known Traveler Number (KTN)
4. Use it whenever you book a flight
5. Go into designated TSA Pre✓^® lines at the airport
6. Save time and do your stress-free happy dance

Enrollment will take place from March 18th through March 28th, Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday March 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Closed Saturdays and Sundays. Walk-ups are welcome to the event but appointments are preferred.
