The Oz Escape: An Interactive Lubbock Experience will transform boring city streets into the magical world of Oz for an outdoor escape room experience in May. Participants will use their phones to follow hidden clues, solve puzzles, and complete fun challenges as they walk around the hub city.

It all happens on May 18, 2024. The event is based solely on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. You'll be able to play the game at your own pace, or if you're feeling competitive, you can race the clock against your friends and hundreds of other teams.

It looks like it's going to be pretty cool, and a good excuse to get a little exercise while you have fun with your family. It's also not too expensive. A single-team ticket is only $40, and it's for 2-6 adults. Kids get in for free.

The location for the event will be released via text message before it begins. Participants are even invited to wear costumes, but it's completely optional. The recommended age to play is 8+, AND, the event is pet-friendly! So, you can bring your pooch to help you out with the more difficult clues...

Playtime is approximately 90 minutes, and you can begin The Oz Escape anytime between 10 am and 4 pm on May 18, 2024. For more information or to purchase tickets, head over to their website by clicking here.

Lubbock needs more fun and free things for kids to do around town like this. I think it's going to be a fun day. You might even see me out there playing!
