Hub City Comic Con
The long-awaited Hub City Comic Con is back this weekend after taking a break in 2023. This weekend's convention will be better than ever with a variety of amazing guests from childhood favorites like The Fairly Odd Parents and The Legend of Korra, and current crazes like Hazbin Hotel and Kaiju No. 8.
The con starts on Saturday, August 24, and runs through Sunday, August 25, and is at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. There will be a large variety of vendors selling nerdy goodies, art, and more. Along with entertaining and educational panels, a cosplay contest, and more.
Summer Dance Party
Social Dance Lubbock is hosting one of their special events this Saturday, August 24th, at the Lubbock Garden and Arts Center from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be a curated playlist featuring a variety of dance styles including Salsa, Country Two Step, West Coast Swing, and more. They will also have finger foods, popsicles, a beach-themed photo booth, and fun summer décor.
They are encouraging guests to come in their best vacation wear, so grab your Hawaiian shirt or tropical dress, and get ready to dance.
