If you are looking to make a gift for a family member or friend, test your creativity, or simply learn a new skill, you might want to try pottery painting.

Lubbock has two main pottery painting studios where you can pick out anything from mugs, piggy banks, ornaments, and more, to paint and make your own. Whatever you paint is then fired in a kiln, and you get to take home and use your beautiful creation.

Let’s take a look at what Lubbock’s twos different studios have to offer:

Clay Cafe

Clay Café was Lubbock’s first paint-your-own pottery studio and they offer a variety of services. You can do the classic option of coming into the studio, picking your piece, painting it, and picking it up once it’s been fired. You can also try their to-go kits where you can pick your pottery and paint colors, bring them home to paint with, and then drop your piece back off to be fired and picked up later.

They also offer other crafting projects like glass mosaics, Kid's Camps, parties, and more. They have different hours depending on the day, so be sure to check their official website for more information.

The Mud Room

The Mud Room also offers the classic potter painting experience. You can also make a mosaic of paint on canvas at this studio. They offer party and event options, specialty socials, and more. More information can be found on their official website.
