Advance Auto Parts is a major auto parts store in Texas and across the United States, but as other large and small businesses have seen, times are still tough for so many brick and mortar locations. And now, Advance Auto Parts is moving forward selling or closing more than 200 locations.

Back in November of 2024, Advance Auto Parts announced that they were planning to close 523 corporate and 204 independent locations in a plan to turn around the company as a whole. According to chainstorage.com, back in August of 2024 Advance Auto Parts had a total of over 4,400 locations across the United States.

According to chainstoreage.com, the locations are located in 14 states including Texas. The report also said that Advance Auto has been working to turnaround the entire business in order to return to profitability. For years, Advance Auto has been dealing with falling sales. Back in November, Advance Auto completed the sale of Worldpac to Carlyle for $1.5 billion dollars.

The CEO, Shane O'Kelly said back in November that the path forward is part of their three-year financial plan according to chainstorage.com.

Advance Auto Parts will still have thousands of locations open to serve customers though more locations may close in the future. Advance Auto Parts is dealing with what many in retail are having to navigate when it comes to inflation and rise of online sales.
