Clothes are a necessity, and they're one of those things we need to have on our bodies before we leave the house. The thing about Texas is that in the summer, you don't want to have a ton of clothes on, and in the winter, you can't layer enough.  Even though Texas may not be the center of the fashion world, Texans love their clothes.

However, when it comes to buying clothes, which city do you think spends the most on clothes?  The answer to that might be shocking, because it isn't what you would expect.

When you think about people purchasing clothes, you would expect the bigger cities like DFW, Houston, or Austin to be at the top of the list of cities spending money on clothes and buying the most, but they are not.

Are you ready for this?

Lubbock! Lubbock, Texas, is at the top of the list of cities that spend the most on clothes. This isn't just in Texas; it's the entire country.

Why Is Lubbock Spending So Much on Clothes?

Lubbock ranks #8 in the U.S. when it comes to spending the most on clothes.  The next Texas city to make the list was Houston, and it came in at #10.  Who would have thought Lubbock would spend more on clothes than Houston?  Lubbock has a decent shopping scene, and the prices in Lubbock are fairly average. One would think the clothes in Houston would cost more.
