BarPM typically has an open mic night comedy every Thursday night, but this week there will be a special showcase by Lubbock's best local stand-up comedians.

The show is completely free and sponsored by Val Burba Comedy and Western Son Vodka. A little bird also told me that there will be free drinks, so this is definitely something to look forward to.

Leave the kids at home and come out for some free fun in Lubbock. The shindig kicks off on Thursday, May 12th at 8 p.m. in the backroom of BarPM. You might like to arrive early to secure yourself a good spot to watch all of the action. Val Burba will be hosting the showcase, and featured comedians include Adam Morris, Jenni Moore, Curtis Hinds, Selena Martinez, Chrissy Covington and Corey Evans.

BarPM is a really great location for these shows and they have really been filling up. Some nights there are over 100 people in there cheering and laughing. It means a lot to everyone in the local comedy scene when Lubbock comes out to support, so we hope to see you there.

If you're interested in trying your hand at some stand-up comedy or getting to know Lubbock's comedy scene, please feel free to visit with performers after the show. Everyone is incredibly friendly and can point you in the right direction to get started in local comedy. The world can always use more funny people and if you think you might be one of them, we'd like to meet ya.

Jeopardy! as we know it has been on the air since 1984, but the show got its start way back 1964.

Over the decades, the writers have managed to keep coming up with challenging questions to test the intellectual might of America's best and brightest (and sometimes softball questions for celebrities).

Texas is a place packed with personality, culture, and history, and there've been hundreds of questions/answers about the Lone Star State. Let's take a look at a few recent ones, and keep an eye out because we'll add more soon to test your Texas trivia skills and challenge newcomers.
