The four Lubbock County Constable cars now bear the phrase "In God We Trust" on them. The hilarious thing is, one of the constables explains it as a reminder to "serve & protect every citizen..."

The question is, if it's a reminder for you to "serve and protect", why didn't you put "To Serve And Protect" on the cars? Why is it necessary for Lubbock to join in on this nonsense? And how bad is your memory that you have to write notes on cars to remember stuff? How do you find your keys in the morning? Yeah, I took it to stupid levels because that's what's happening in this country. You have a large group of people, the majority even, who are completely unwilling to respect the rights of the minority. That is what is UnAmerican. I would like to remind every one of these folks that the pendulum has already started swinging the other way. You are setting yourself up for NO respect when the other side gets their turn.

Constables serve legal documents and should be the last ones to test the limits of the laws. Of course, they're doing this on the advice of Texas Attorney Ken Paxton who ruled that this kind of thing was okay. This was the same guy who was held in contempt for blocking marriage equality and who is currently under indictment on multiple felony charges for securities fraud and other charges.

So good luck to these constables. I'm sure other law enforcement in Lubbock will probably follow suit. Just keep in mind, that you're NOT serving "every citizen" when you join in on this nonsense. It is as clear as a bell that your real intent is to thumb your nose at those who don't believe the same as you do. This is more conservative/liberal, religious/non-religious and us versus them mentality that serves to separate us and will make even more people question the motives of law enforcement.
