If you were planning on grabbing a bite to eat at Lubbock's 2023 Summer Food Truck Alley on Tuesday, hold your horses. It was just announced that the event is canceled due to extreme weather conditions.

July 18th, 2023 is just going to be way too hot to enjoy the event. The last thing anyone is going to want to do is to be trapped in a food truck in front of a hot grill. I've been there, and it is NO fun.

The temperatures are supposed to reach 105 degrees on the 18th and the 19th. That's just stupid hot, y'all.

Here's the media release I received about the event this morning from the City of Lubbock:

"Due to forecasted extreme heat for Tuesday, July 18, the City of Lubbock is canceling tomorrow's 'Food Truck Alley' event. The cancelation is solely for the 'Food Truck Alley' event and does not include the Fire Marshal's Office and Environmental Health Department's regular inspection and permitting process. For more information, visit mylubbock.us/food-truck-alley."

Luckily, the rest of the week in Lubbock should be a little cooler, and you will still be able to visit the food truck alley on August 15th, weather permitting.

If you've never been out to visit our delicious local food trucks at the event, you can get involved or find more information by clicking here.

Also, would you care to share what food truck in Lubbock you love the most? I'd love to hear about them and what makes them special! Feel free to email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.

Stay cool, Lubbock!
