Lubbock Is Getting A New Chicken Restaurant Location In An Unusual Place
I remember the Good Old Days, back when a trip to Wal-Mart also meant your mom would buy you a Happy Meal at the in-store McDonalds. And you got your picture with the Ronald McDonald statue.
Are there still any McDs in Wal-Marts? I'm not sure. I am sure my family ended up with one of those Ronald statues, but that's a story for another time.
A trip to Wal-Mart can take some time, especially if you're grabbing a month's worth of groceries as folks who live in the country do.
What happens if you get hungry? Now, there's a fresh hot option that many Lubbockites are excited for: the Wal-Mart at 82nd and Milwaukee is getting a Golden Chick!
This is especially welcome news, as Lubbock lost its Golden Chick location at 5727 82nd.
Even Pete Christy is excited about it:
Golden Chick is popular with Texans because it's a Texas the first Golden Chick opened in San Marcos, Texas, and is currently headquartered in Richardson, Texas.
Golden Chick carries a variety of fried favorites- like fried breasts and drumsticks, chicken strips, wings, catfish, sandwiches, crispy chicken salads, etc.
They also carry roasted chicken and chicken salad if you like it a little lighter.
Golden Chick offers a variety of exciting sides (I've always been a sides person) like mac and cheese, fried okra, and dirty rice. Yum!
Soon you'll be able to enjoy some fresh chicken dishes on your next Wal-Mart trip. Sounds like a win/win to me.
