The Lubbock Public Library was a huge part of my childhood and my mom always tried to take me to all of the different events they offered. Whether it was listening to someone tell a story, or watching episodes of Paddington bear, I spent a ton of time at our local libraries.

If you are looking for some fun and constructive activities for your kids to get involved with their community and make new friends, I would highly suggest checking out all of the upcoming events they have to offer, like the Mad Scientists Club: Thanksgiving Catapult at Patterson Branch Library on November 15th, 2022 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The Mad Scientists Club offers a different STEM activity each month. For the month of November, children in K-6th are invited to participate in building a Thanksgiving Catapult. The children will make the catapults out of various materials like popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and erasures. Then, they will have the chance to launch the catapult and see who can get their erasure to go the furthest distance.

That sounds like fun to me!

It almost makes me wish I had some kids to take over to participate in the fun they are having in the Mad Scientists Club. Maybe someday...

So, do me a favor, and get your kids involved with the Lubbock Public Library! I developed a love for learning and reading at a young age because of all of the time I spent in our local libraries. Be sure to send FMX a video of your kiddo's catapult! We'd love to check it out!
