New restrictions have been put in place to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Among the rules are buying limits on toilet paper (yes, please stop this stupidity), prohibiting elective surgeries, and actually making it mandatory to have people six feet apart while waiting in line (this is a mix of ordinances in Austin and Dallas).

None of these ideas and rules are going to negatively affect anyone's quality of life. They are not going to inhibit freedoms or put any undue distress on anyone. They are smart, pro-active rules, and Lubbock should adopt them right now.

We need leadership from our mayor and council. STEP UP for Lubbock. As a matter of fact, you can use that gang, "STEP UP FOR LUBBOCK AND STEP BACK IN LINE." Whatever it takes, let's clampdown seriously now so that we can beat this thing.
