New Movie Releases — ‘The Hunger Games’

Another week with a single movie opening in wide release, but everyone’s so excited about this one that it may have needed the entire weekend to itself.

The long-awaited ‘The Hunger Games,’ based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins, is the story of a post-apocalyptic world in which an annual event pits children selected by lottery against each other in a televised battle to the death. When 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen’s little sister is chosen to compete, Katniss steps in to take her place and must rely upon her sharp instincts and trusted allies to survive.
