Nu Metal Madness Tour Coming to Lubbock’s Jakes Backroom In 2023
Come my lady, come, come my lady, to the Nu Metal Madness Tour at Jake's Backroom. But guard your fierce nipple pierce, because this show promises to get a little rowdy with (Hed) pe, Crazytown, Tantric, Adema, and local support. I promised myself I'd stop with the Butterfly jokes in the first paragraph, so if that's already on your nerves, it's almost over my sugar... baby.
This ensemble tour is scheduled for Jake's Backroom on Monday, April 3rd, 2023. Yes, I know Monday shows are rough, but the real ones go and you have plenty of time to ask for that following Tuesday off.
Tickets are not yet on sale but will be available through J and B Productions website and likely at Ralph's Records. I highly, highly encourage you to only purchase tickets through these two vendors as ticket scalping and ticket scams are prevalent and just because a ticket seller comes up as the first on google, doesn't mean it's reputable or not a ripoff.
This lineup is a pretty good cross-section of the Nu Metal genre. Headliner (Hed) pe fuses punk and metal with rap and reggae, which is textbook nu metal, but in their own very unique way. Their hit song Bartender has all that fuzzy drop-tuned bass you crave. Crazytown had one of the hugest Nu Metal hits of the late 90s with Butterfly, a song that has since launched a thousand memes. Tantric is a new addition to the tour, replacing Flaw in 2022. I would describe Tantric more as post-grunge, but it fits the mood of this show really well. Adema is that dark, moody, and emotional type of Nu Metal that helped not only define the genre but give it depth and soul.
2022 was a great year for concerts and shows in Lubbock, and I'm looking forward to seeing everything 2023 will have to offer. Giovannie and the Hired Guns are playing in January as well, so we are already seeing the next year beginning to flesh out.
