Even the 'rona can't stop Record Store Day (Saturday, August 29th), the most important holiday of the year (in my opinion).

Record Store Day is like a video game villain that gets stronger the more you hit it, because this year we get it in three equally awesome editions. I was worried the selection would be diluted, and I was wrong to worry. There's a ton of awesome exclusives rare and first shot vinyl happening this year. My poor wallet is already crying from the beating it's going to take.

Record Store Day is a great opportunity to support the cultural gem that is our only locally-owned, independent record store. Ralph's Records has been here for us for the last 40 years -- a mirage in a dry, dry dessert.

You can view the entire list at recordstoreday.com. Remember that some of these titles are regional/very limited, so get there early and don't act like a baby if they don't have it. If you have your heart set on a particular title I recommend calling or shooting Ralph's a message.

Regardless, you want to attend Record Store Day because Ralph's Records holds their best sales during the holiday. Even at full retail, Ralph's is a bargain, so get ready to get really happy with your haul of vinyl, plus DVDs, CDs, video games and other entertainment ephemera. (Bonus: Ralph's Records has restocked their $5 40th anniversary shirts.)

Here are some of the titles I'll be on the hunt for. (Watch out, I throw elbows.)

David Bowie, ChangesNowBowie (Exclusive)

The Cure, Bloodflowers 2X Picture (Exclusive)

Judas Priest, 40th Anniversary British Steel (Exclusive)

Motorhead, Ace of Spades/ Dirty Love (Exclusive)

New Order, John Peel Session 1982 (Exclusive)

Iggy Pop, Kiss My Blood (Exclusive)

Tom Tom Club, Genius of Love 2020 (First)

Good luck on your hunt. And, no, I won't really throw elbows. I'm quite nice in spite of all the rumors.
