I like the sound of just about everything on the new Rob Zombie album.  As a matter of fact, the last Rob Zombie album (Hellbilly Deluxe 2) was awesome except for the first sing "What?" which gave people a very wrong impression of the project.  Now comes news that Zombie will be doing a "heavy duty" cover of an overdone classic.  More after the jump.

I truly understand the need for some artists to play covers. It's pretty cool to lay down your take of one of your hero's jams.  I just don't know if the world needs another cover of "We're An American Band" (the original MORE COWBELL jam).  In fact, with the "White Zombieish" titles on the new c.d., it sticks out like a sore thumb.  Rob's history with covers is a little dicey too.  He did a great job of "I'm Your Boogie Man" but pretty much tanked the Ramones tribute album he produced with his version of my favorite Ramones song "Blitzkrieg Bop".

I guess the jury is out until we here the song.  If you like, Driver has more on the new album right here.
