Raiderpocalypse Is Here As Texas Tech Readies For BYU Clash
This Saturday is shaping up to be one of the biggest football games ever played in Lubbock, Texas.
How big is the Texas Tech vs. BYU matchup? Let’s start with the fact that BYU comes in ranked #8, while Texas Tech sits just behind them at #9. Add to that BYU’s undefeated record, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. If Tech wins, there’s a strong chance these two teams could meet again for the Big 12 Championship on December 6th. And to top it all off — ESPN GameDay is coming to Lubbock.
I Predict Raider-pocalypse In Lubbock If The Game Is Close
So what’s my prediction? On paper, these teams look evenly matched. If Tech manages to edge out BYU near the end, this city is going to lose its mind. I’m talking storm-the-field, take-it-to-Broadway, hide-the-Lime-Scooters level chaos. I’d say “tear down the goalposts,” but I think those are retractable now, so that’s probably not happening.
There are already Tech students camping out for the best seats, forming a makeshift community known as Raiderville. It’s a whole village of amped-up fans who haven’t slept much and are more than ready to make some questionable choices come Saturday morning.
Lubbock Better Hope Texas Tech Gets A Commanding Early Lead
Our only real hope as Tech fans is for the Red Raiders to grab an early lead and hold it. If they jump out fast, it might actually take some of the wildness out of the post-game celebration — and maybe prevent a few street fires on Broadway.
