The Lubbock Laugh Off, a local stand-up comedy competition that was put on hold during the worst parts of the COVID-19 pandemic, is now set to resume on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at World of Beer.

The lineup hasn't quite been decided yet, but trust me, you won't want to miss it. Comedians in this town are in it to win it, and they put on a hilarious show for the crowd that you just can't get anywhere else in town.

I've only competed in the Laugh Off once, and it was actually the same day I met 94.5 FMX The RockShow host Wes Nessman for the first time. I walked right up to him, interrupted his meal and said "Hi! My name is Chrissy! I'm performing tonight! I've always wanted to meet you!"

In hindsight, that was totally weird and rude of me, but I was a bit starstruck to meet the guy that I'd heard on the radio my whole life. Now, I co-host the number one morning show in the region with him, which still completely baffles me.

Please come out and get yourself some chuckles. There's always a massive crowd, so I'd get there early enough to find a seat. If you come too late, there will be only standing room left. That speaks volumes of just how great the night is. All of the local comedians have been looking forward to the Lubbock Laugh Off starting back up, and everyone is stoked to make you laugh.
