WATCH: Red Raider Fans Allegedly Beat Down Longhorn at KFC
A Longhorn fan got a bucket of chicken and a beat down at the KFC on the north end of Jones AT&T Stadium this weekend. This brutal attack looks to have happened during pregame tailgating festivities ahead of the Texas Tech-Texas game on Saturday, September 24th.
There's no sound on the video, but it looks like a Longhorns fan was in the middle of a group in red and something went sideways. By the time the man in the burnt orange lands in front of the KFC, his shirt is gone and he's getting hit with a barrage of fists and feet by multiple people.
The crowd forms around the men fighting before it finally dispersed.
With as many Longhorns that were at the game, this could have been much much worse than it was. There's no place at any tailgate for fighting, especially a 10-on-1 beatdown. Even if it is a Longhorn in Lubbock at a Texas Tech game.
I don't know for certain, but I'm guessing the guy getting rocked was talking a lot of crap before someone finally did something about it. Again, I'm not into fighting or condone what happened, but stupid stuff happens when the sun, alcohol, and crowds show up in the same place.
On the field, Texas Tech football also beat the Longhorns, though that was a fair fight and it was 11-on-11. It took overtime, but a Trey Wolff field goal probably felt like a kick in the face to head coach Steve Sarkisian and Bijan Robinson, who fumbled in the opening drive of overtime.
