Halloween is just a few weeks away and LubbockPRIDE wants to start the celebrations a bit early this year.

Last year the LGBTQIA+ community pulled together to organize the first LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Trunk-or-Treat hosted by Lubbock’s first Rainbow Council of LULAC. Saturday, October 15th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1501 University (the St. John's Methodist Church parking lot), LubbockPRIDE will be hosting this year's inclusive Trunk-or-Treat.

Both LULAC and LubbockPRIDE hope to alternate years of hosting to show community support and demonstrate teamwork between LGBTQIA+ organizations in Lubbock. This event welcomes all individuals to come and Trunk-or-Treat, regardless of age, gender, religion, or identity. This is a safe place for everyone to feel supported and accepted for who they are without judgment or rejection.

Halloween is the most wonderful time of the year, and this is an opportunity to celebrate who we are and get free Snickers bars. This year’s event is sponsored by Caprock Mortgage Solutions. Through their generous donation, LubbockPRIDE was able to secure the parking lot for this event and allow visitors to have access to restrooms and food trucks.

This is truly a special event for Lubbock and it would be great to get a big turnout. Plus, you can test out your spooky costumes early before Halloween night. And, really, who doesn't love two Halloweens? Double the candy, double the fun!

We hope you will come out to celebrate all of the fun of the season at this year's LGBTQIA+ Trunk-or-Treat. Oh, and save me some Dots. I always swap my chocolate for them. Dots rule.
