Don’t Panic, Lubbock: It’s Gonna Rain.
We've enjoyed days of blue skies, mixed in with the occasional dust storm, which is what we would normally expect in spring here in West Texas. The sun is out, children laugh and play, and people are whipping off their masks to sun their noses and chins.
However, an ugly threat looms on the horizon here in the Hub City. For that, we head over to meteorologist Ollie Williams with the forecast. Ollie?
Thanks, Ollie.
Yes, it's going to rain next week. Lawns will start to green up and trees will begin to bloom as the dust turns to a thin layer of mud. But just how much rain will we get? For that, let's head over to the more qualified meteorologist Ron Roberts at KAMC. Ron?
Mercifully, it looks like we will get a very nice weekend, just before the rain comes down. It looks like we won't get a lot, but enough to green up some dry patches of grass and keep the dust down if the wind picks up.
Then, once we hit Next Friday, we find Craig moving to Rancho Cucamonga with his Uncle Elroy and cousin Day-Day after they won the lottery.
Oops, sorry. I got lost in the plot of the movie Next Friday, which was on TV the other night. I get distracted easily. Did you know I used to live in Rancho Cucamonga? No, seriously! It's a fairly upper middle-class area that has skyrocketed in home value in the past 20 years. I mean, I bought a house in Rancho Cucamonga 1996 for $192,000, and sold it six years later for $236K. Now, it's worth $600,000. Even though people have to drive two hours each way if they work in L.A. I feel stupid...
Ahem...
But, I digress. It's gonna rain next week. Thanks, Ollie...and this pervert below.
