Friggin’ Hot? Check Out These Texas Summer Heat Reminders
If you’ve lived in Texas for more than a few weeks, there is one thing you’re painfully aware of.
Texas weather is no joke.
With the first official day of summer still around the corner, we’ve already topped the 100 degree mark several times.
With that in mind, I think it’s important to remind all you fine people of a few things.
First, and most importantly: NEVER leave a child, pet, or any living thing in your vehicle.
It only takes a few minutes for the temperature inside a parked vehicle to reach deadly levels, even with the windows cracked and in the shade.
Second, drink lots of fluids. And no, beer doesn’t count.
With high temperatures, it doesn’t take long for our bodies to become dehydrated or to develop heat stroke.
And finally, don’t forget about your pets. Make sure they have plenty of water. If they are not inside pets, a place to get out of the heat of the day.
Summer is the best time of year, but can also be deadly if you aren’t aware of these important reminders.
Take care, and enjoy the Texas heat.
