Two new driving laws will take effect in 2025 in Texas. One eliminates annoying vehicle safety inspections, and the other regulates how car dealers register vehicle sales.

Here's everything you need to know about these two new laws:

Beginning January 1st, non-commercial vehicles in Texas will no longer require a safety inspection. Commercial vehicles, however, will still require an emissions test. Those tests depend on where the vehicle owner lives. Also, remember that ALL cars will still need to be registered with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Non-commercial vehicles only have to pay a $7.50 inspection replacement fee. If you've got a new vehicle that has never been registered, you will have to pay $16.75 to cover the car for two years

Alright, moving on to the second change Texas drivers need to know about...

This new vehicle law doesn't take effect until July 1st, but it's essentially going to end the temporary license plate saga. Paper tags have made it exceedingly easy for criminals to sell fraudulent items online. This will hopefully help in that venture and curb the illegal car game in the Lone Star State.
