This business was doing fine, turning a corner and making a mark in Lubbock, then they were the victim of bank fraud.

It's terrible what happened to this local business. They were straight-up ripped off and we've seen the receipts. Even worse, in my opinion, is the bank telling them it could be 60 days before the charges might be taken off. Plain Jane's now finds itself between a rock and a hard place. They could just decide that none of this was meant to be, or they could cobble together what they can and come back fighting.

We're of the opinion that all of us can make a difference here. I'm straight up asking you to plan a meal or snack at Plain Jane's in the next few days just to give the folks a little hope. I'm not asking you to donate or do any more than you can, just take one mealtime or snack-time this week and head over to Plain Jane's.

Plain Jane's isn't just desert. They have Philly cheesesteaks, green chili and chicken pot pie fried pies. Then you have dessert with cherry, peach, apple, and apricot pies.  There are occasionally other pies and items available as well.

This is a very small, incredibly local business with fresh-made, in-house deliciousness. I'm asking you to swamp them through the rest of January. They have to make up for well over a month of stolen money. We can do this. If you do nothing else, spread this message far and wide and lets get the word out there.

Plain Jane's is at 3407 98th Street. They're open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
